Expressive Portraits- These compositions are all images of identities, personalities or individuals that have created some impact on my life. Regardless if the image is fictitious or true, creating expressive portraits has always been a favorite past time. These images reflect my entrance into a world of art as well as a method I use to create statements of how I visually communicate about self identity, cultural identity, issues in history, popular culture or about individuals who have impacted the world.
Quay-Vine Sauce- When Barbecue Sauce Simply Won't Do...
Quay-Vine Sauce is an all purpose gourmet sauce ideal for all types of meat, vegetables, bread or seafood. I created this sauce when I was in Graduate school at Washington State. Univ. I've always been asked where did the name come from. The name of my sauce is a blend between what my Brother called Barbecue sauce "Quay-Quay" and the spiritual notion and Christian belief that what ever grows from the "True Vine"-Christ- will prosper, hence Quay-Vine.
Conceptual Abstraction- These works of art incorporate an understood amount of critical thinking and creative dialogue. I have always been intrigued by the exercise of "Thinking" provided by puzzles, riddles, codes and layers of symbolism. Abstract and conceptual art throughout history and in its contemporary existence has always provided me with inspiration and intrigue. My work offers a firm intention on color, line quality, figurative and abstract expressionism painterly brush strokes and the mystery of conceptual statements hidden by figurative and abstracted images. Abstract Conceptual style is a personal favorite, it mirrors one facet of my subconscious identity.

Pallet Knife- Cut like a ginsu.
Pallet knife paintings delivered an interesting experience that challenged and cut into my brush strokes. The paint spread like butter over the canvas, the paste created texture like spackle in the hands of a mason and my mind was blown that I had arrived at a new method and skill set to applying my paint. This creative discovery was welcomed as it was my first step into defining my life as an artist.
