S'cuse me, do you know Jimi? -Northwest African American Museum [temporary installation]

The installation S'cuse me, do you know Jimi?, at the Northwest African American Museum (NAAM) was a reminder of how influential the life and musical genius Jimi Hendrix had on young people of his generation and those today. S'cuse me, do you know Jimi? was the result of the 2019 Carver Gayton Youth Curators Program held at the Northwest African American Museum. The S'cuse me, do you know Jimi? project delivered a two dimensional installation with video, Hendrix music and a montage documentary of individuals who reflected on the known and lived relationships with the iconic Jimi Hendrix. The question posed in the title was the spring board of fruitful and engaging conversation that offered bright perspective for new listeners and coming generations.
